Shared Workspaces that Foster Innovation: Workbar at NewCo Boston

Coworking has taken off in the recent years as a work trend and an alternative to traditional offices, and the movement is only expected to keep growing. It’s estimated that within the next five years 50% of the workforce will either be remote employees, freelancers, consultants, or working part time. Given this staggering shift, it’s safe to say coworking represents the future of work.

Coworking spaces are giving new entrepreneurs and modern workers untraditional workspaces where they get everything they need to get things done. However, coworking is about so much more than sharing a physical space. It’s as much about the connections made, from new business referrals, to trusted vendor recommendations, to creative inspirations, to expanded professional networks, and more.  There’s tremendous value in the sense of community and camaraderie that comes along with working in the same place and meeting new people.

While some might see coworking as a professional alternative to the local coffee shop, it’s more about fostering an entrepreneurial ecosystem built for the long run. And that’s what Workbar is all about.

This session, held in the nation’s first WELL-designed coworking space, will reveal our formula for creating coworking spaces known for their collaborative communities. Our panel will give attendees an overview of how the sharing economy has shifted the way people work, and get into detail about how community building has helped Workbar nurture connections and foster innovation both as a company and as a gathering space.
