Mr. Peter Bowman
Vice President of External Affairs, Verizon Communications
Peter T. Bowman is Vice President of External Affairs for Verizon Communications. In this role, he oversees all external affairs activities for Verizon in Massachusetts and Rhode Island where he leads municipal relations, strategic community investments through the Verizon Foundation and other community relations efforts. He also directs external affairs advocacy in connection with the company’s deployment of FiOS, and video franchising.
Bowman began his career with New England Telephone in 1980 and has held a variety of sales and external affairs positions since then. Bowman also is active in many civic and charitable organizations. He currently serves of the board of the Boston Municipal Research Bureau and is a member of the Massachusetts IT Collaborative. He also served on the Board of Trustees of the Immigrant Learning Center in Malden and is a past president of the Melrose and Waltham Chambers of Commerce. He is past chairman of the Melrose Master Plan Advisory Committee and participated on several other city committees and commissions.
A graduate of Northeastern University, Bowman received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. He also received and MBA from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College. Bowman resides in Melrose, Massachusetts with his wife and daughter.
