Mr. Vin Bisceglia
General Partner, Genovation Capital LLC
A widely experienced senior executive and business leader, Mr. Bisceglia’s career spans more than 28 years in the technology industry. A highly successful CEO and Board Director, Mr. Bisceglia has significant expertise involving venture financing, operations management, new technology development, private placements, public financings, mergers and acquisitions and leading IPO’s.
Mr. Bisceglia is a General Partner at Genovation Capital LLC, (www.genovationcapital.com) a venture firm in formation targeting early-stage technology startups in communications, media and internet applications. Mr Bisceglia joined Broadbus Technologies, Inc. (www.broadbus.com) in January 2004 as Chairman & CEO. Broadbus introduced an award winning server technology focused on the high growth Video On Demand market. Targeting the Cable and Telecom industries, the On-Demand entertainment phenomenon represents global opportunities for the Company’s patented DRAM server architecture. Broadbus was acquired by Motorola in 2006. Prior to joining Broadbus, Mr. Bisceglia served as Chairman and CEO of NEON Communications, Inc., (NASDAQ) establishing NEON as one of the premier carriers of high-capacity optical bandwidth in North America. Mr. Bisceglia directed the deployment of an industry leading backbone network launching the first OC-192 metro-optical network solutions in key Tier 1 markets. While at NEON, Mr. Bisceglia built a high performance team that positioned the company as the category leader within the optical bandwidth sector and at its height, achieved a multi-billion dollar market capitalization.
Before joining NEON, Mr. Bisceglia served as President and CEO of TSG, Inc. (NASDAQ) In addition to responsibilities for all aspects of this global telecom equipment manufacturer targeting wireline & wireless carriers, Mr. Bisceglia engineered a successful restructuring and turnaround that lead to a fully subscribed IPO. Major shareholders realized a 12X Return on Equity in three years.
Mr. Bisceglia also led company operations as President and COO at Transaction Management, Inc. a venture-backed LAN systems manufacturer. In this capacity, he managed the strategic planning initiative which involved product positioning, pricing, R&D, strategic partnerships and global channeling for all product lines. Transaction Management Inc. was acquired by TSG in 1988.
Mr. Bisceglia began his career at National Semiconductor/DTS, Inc., directing new product and business development activities. He later joined Siemens/Nixdorf and managed the business team that successfully completed the company’s first LAN systems initiative in the U.S. market adding $100 million in revenues, a 40% increase in this systems division.
Additionally, Mr. Bisceglia is an active high technology industry figure and a Limited Partner in several Boston-area Venture Capital firms. He is an active recording musician and has performed with Paul Allen at industry events. He also sits on a number of Boards and Advisory Boards including the Massachusetts Network Communications Council, SCTE and CTAM, the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing and Epistrophy LLC. Mr. Bisceglia is a frequent guest lecturer at MIT Sloan School, Boston University and Providence College.
Mr. Bisceglia holds a BA with a concentration in finance and marketing management from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, MA and an MBA from Suffolk University, Boston, MA.
