11th Annual Awards Program Spotlights Technology Innovation

The 2008 Mass Technology Leadership Awards program spotlights the companies, the people, and the technologies that exemplify the best and the brightest in the Massachusetts technology community. It recognizes companies and individuals who epitomize leadership and excellence in business and technology.
The Mass Technology Leadership Awards are the first and only awards to equally recognize outstanding achievement in the development and implementation of information technology. Approximately 11 awards will be presented (see categories on reverse). Nominations for the awards are submitted on-line in the spring and finalists are announced at two summer networking sessions. A select group of industry leaders and influencers in the Massachusetts technology community serve on the Awards Selection Committee and vote on the award winners by early Fall.
Winners will be announced at an Awards Banquet on Thursday October 23, 2008 at the Sheraton Boston. Projected attendance at the banquet is 400+ senior executives from the technology community - entrepreneurs, C-level executives, CIOs from large IT Departments, business leaders, industry influencers, media and press.

2008 CATEGORIES
Organizational Awards (4):
1. Innovative Public Sector Organization of the Year (ie, government, hospital, university, etc.)
2. Innovative Private Sector Company of the Year
3. Emerging Innovative Company of the Year
4. “The Commonwealth Award” (Organization that put Massachusetts on the map in the last 12 months)
Criteria:
• MA-based, or, significant MA connection, such as:
o physical proximity to MA (i.e., just over border and significant business dealings in MA); OR
o measurable contribution to innovation through operations in MA (i.e., R&D headquartered in MA).
• Measureable/quantitative measurements that illustrate the innovation of this organization over the last 12 months (i.e., revenue dollars; % growth; industry recognition)
Individual Awards (6):
1. CEO of the Year
2. CIO of the Year
3. CTO of the Year
4. CXO of the Year
5. VC/Investor of the Year
6. Innovator of the Year (could be executive, academic, etc.)
Criteria:
• MA-based, or, significant MA connection, such as:
o physical proximity to MA (i.e., could be just over border and significant business dealings in MA); OR
o measurable contribution through operations in MA (i.e., R&D leader headquartered in MA).
• Measureable/quantitative measurements that illustrate their leadership in the last year (i.e., company turnaround; IPO/M&A activity; industry recognition)
