Session 1: Thinking Outside the Box to Stay Ahead of the Curve - Market, Product & Distribution

The MassTLC SaaS/Cloud community is hosting a two-part seminar series focused on the SaaS business model and operations that lead to success. In our first session we will focus on market, product and distribution followed by a session in June on new, innovative strategies used to service, support, and operate a company.

Our April session will focus on the industry shift that is forcing SaaS companies to think outside the box to survive. New technologies are bringing new opportunities and it is no longer enough to identify a market and offer an application. You need to know details about the actual customers in your target market: why and how purchase decisions are made and what you need to do to resolve the pain your application addresses. Success depends on out-innovating your competition by thinking outside the box and meeting customer expectations and customer needs with a memorable customer experience.

Our keynote speaker, Mike Fitzgerald from Commonwealth Capital Ventures, will offer key trends for market, distribution and operations that lead to success in a SaaS business. Our panelists from both small and large SaaS organization will share real tactics on:

• the business opportunities and models that SaaS creates
•leveraging market knowledge to define your product and business model,
•finding a scalable sales model that encompasses pricing, packaging, distribution and your customer’s buying process.

Keynote and moderator:
Mike Fitzgerald, Commonwealth Capital Ventures

Panelists:
- Brett Houle, CEO, SendLabs
- Matt Johnson, CEO, OmniStrat
- Alex Chriss, Director, Intuit Partner Platform, Intuit
- Douglas Kim, Managing Director, Global Head - PegaCloud, PegaSystems
