Innovation Series Event: Crimson on Cardinal - Startup throwdown with Harvard iLab

Which student-run startups are working on products or services that will help make us all happier, healthier, wealthier or wiser?

Here’s an even weightier question: which university – Harvard or MIT – can incubate the best innovation? We plan to find out November 21, when three teams from each school face off at the first annual Crimson on Cardinal Throw-down!

Come watch as team members pitch their ideas to an audience filled with the region’s most influential entrepreneurs, investors, mentors and media. Following the presentations, you’ll vote on which team presents the hottest startup idea.

Innovation Economy editor, Boston Globe columnist and author Scott Kirsner will kick off the evening by hosting a fireside chat with two entrepreneurs who bring a range of real-world, field-hardened experiences and insights to the startup scene. Dr. Christina Lampe-Onnerud is the Founder and former CEO/Chairman of Boston-Power, who successfully brought next-generation lithium-ion battery technology to the electric transportation sector. Paris Wallace is president and CEO with consumer health company Ovuline, which uses machine learning, big data, wearable devices and clinical guidelines to help women conceive faster and have healthier pregnancies.

It all starts Thursday, November 21. It’ll be a home game for the Harvard team, with the throw-down being held at the Harvard Innovation Lab (i-lab) A resource for students from across Harvard interested in entrepreneurship and innovation, the i-lab resources support student ventures spanning social and cultural entrepreneurship, health and sciences, technology, and consumer fields.

There is very limited seating for this event so register early if you would like to attend!
