The High-Level Details

Meets for 8 classes, Monday and Thursday evenings May 23 - June 20

Start Smart is a hands-on workshop for new and seasoned entrepreneurs alike who are serious about launching a new business venture. The Start Smart program provides entrepreneurs with the information and contacts necessary to help start a new start-up venture in as successful a way as possible.

Originally inspired by Guy Kawasaki's popular book, "The Art of the Start,” the curriculum was developed by the MIT Enterprise Forum’s CEO Services Committee. The curriculum has evolved over the 8 years of the program’s existence to incorporate important new concepts and also feature Bill Aulet’s new book “Disciplined Entrepreneurship”.

The program’s sessions are focused on the major steps required to prepare a solid understanding of your target market and launch a successful startup venture.

Why Take This Class?

  • Learn the important analysis required to prepare your new venture for a successful launch and rapid growth.
  • Meet the experts. CEO's, successful entrepreneurs and investors are invited guest speakers and an integral component of the Start Smart learning experience.
  • Bring exercises you have completed to class, discuss your results, and receive expert and peer feedback on how to make improvements.
  • Define and refine your company’s target market, product positioning, business model and go to market strategy.
  • Create a company pitch deck suitable for potential investors, clients, recruits, and partners.
  • Build a lifetime CEO network with Entrepreneurs and others you meet during the workshop series.
