Innovation and Education [Stephen Laster @slaster]

Innovation with technology in education is a multi-faceted opportunity. World class ed-tech lives in an ecosystem and seamlessly blends technology, content, curriculum, and data in ways that power educators and students to maximize engagement and results. In this session, Stephen Laster, Chief Digital Office of McGraw-Hill Education will discuss how McGraw-Hill is transforming the world of ed-tech and working globally to harness technology for better learning outcomes.(speech level: intermediate; duration: 30 minutes)

Waterfalls are great to watch [Carlo Frinolli @carl0s_]

But when you work on digital products working with waterfall methodologies is way too risky. Worst: you start building something on wrong assumptions and it takes forever to deliver.Either you are a big enterprise or a small startup, building great mobile products “per sé” doesn’t make any sense. You’ll always need to build them for your people.I will be presenting you the set of methods we use in nois3:Iterative Design based on multidisciplinary teams working on Jams/Sprints is fantastic toDefine, Prototype, and Repeat. Adding a flavor of Data Driven UX will be your game changer to Discover.
(speech level: intermediate; duration: 20 minutes)

Networking Session 2 - DJ Mix 2 - Food & Drink

Functional Model View Presenter with RXSwift  [Giorgio Natili@giorgionatili]

Most of the times, great software get built on top of a proof of concept. For this reason, engineers should follow best practices and an architectural pattern since the first line of code. Anyway, sometimes it happens that following this approach, the team velocity speed gets impacted and executives pressure will force you to skip on it.
During this talk, I will deep dive into the most relevant FP best practices and then demonstrate how to encapsulate FP concepts in an object-oriented architecture keeping in place development speed and getting ready to scale your POC to the next big thing.
(speech level: intermediate; duration: 20 minutes)

Networking Session 3 - DJ Mix 3 - Food & Drink

Speech TBD

Networking Session 4 - DJ Mix 4 - Food & Drink
