Details
Over 99% of the objects in the physical world are offline today. By 2020 forecasters predict that some 50 billion physical objects will come online, allowing us to both sense and control the physical world like never before. This transition is being driven by an explosion of increasingly affordable sensors, wireless communications, cloud-based storage, complex analytics, and robotics. This “Internet of Things” (IoT) will have a profound impact on how we live, work, and play. Significant opportunities will be created for those who get in early and carve out a unique value proposition for this new connected world.

Value is truly in the eyes of the beholder, or in this case, the key stakeholder. So the questions become why connect something, what is the value, and for whom? These answers need to go beyond productivity and profitability. Hear from network providers, device makers, equipment manufacturers, business end users, and consumers as to what their expectations around the data are and where each feels the responsibility in providing the data is held.
