We make Brains for Bots™. Most robots today are either driven by humans or programmed for repetitive tasks. But, if they are to move and work among people, then they need brains to make intelligent decisions. They need to notice when their environment changes and then decide what to do about it.
We call our brains the Neurala Intelligence Engine (NIE). It is based on the scientific research done by the founders on biological intelligence, fundamental computational principles of perception, motivation, decision making, navigation, and motor control, and bio-inspired robots and processors. Neurala’s research has been furthered by funding from NASA and the U.S. Air Force. (Neurala was recently selected to receive a NASA STTR Phase II award).
Neurala is a graduate of the TechStars 2013 Boston start-up accelerator program and works closely with the Boston University Neuromorphics Lab, which studies biological intelligence and embeds the derived fundamental principles in bio-inspired computers and robots.
