"Improving the lives of children with autism and their families through innovative technology solutions."

Technology for Autism Now (TAN) is a Boston based non-profit start-up. TAN has created a tablet based mobile application for the iOS iPad & Android Platforms, "AutiKnow" that is targeted towards special needs teachers, parents and caregivers of individuals with Autism and Autistics themselves. Anyone that may have a complex communication need. The application was developed to simplify learning and communication in Autism. AutiKnow has leveraged information technology and advanced data analytics to create a solution that helps individuals across the Autism spectrum more effectively learn and develop the life skills they need to grow up to be functional young adults and beyond. AutiKnow collects a variety of data based on the only scientifically evidenced methodology to teach persons with autism Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) approved by the NIH, Surgeon General & Autism Science Fdn.The data that is collected from within the app from users is automatically sent to a Dashboard in the Cloud and applies patent-pending analysis to better understand how users are learning and progressing with the tasks at hand. The data can tell a teacher/parent/professional/school districtl where to focus or direct an Individuals Education Plan (IEP) creation, and share progress with parents in real time. In addition this data is so valuable that we can share this with scientists, researchers, doctors, mathematicians so that they may look at other aspects of what is causing autism. We are not trying to cure autism but we do believe that we are opening a new window into the cognitive learning processes of individuals with an ASD. That alone will be life changing for persons on the spectrum and the way society perceives them as a whole and may lead researchers to look at autism in ways they have not even begun to explore.
