FIVE MINUTES TO PITCH ONE GREAT BUSINESS IDEA Quincy Center for Innovation Hosts Quick Pitch Competition
February 10, 2015 (QUINCY, MA) - The Quincy Center for Innovation (QCI) announces its
second annual “Quincy Quick Pitch Competition” to be held on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at
the QCI, located at 180 Old Colony Avenue in Quincy.
The Quincy Quick Pitch Competition is an excellent opportunity for entrepreneurs to “pitch”
their product or idea to a panel with the chance to share up to $5,000 in cash and in-kind
prizes which may be used to help further their business idea. Teams participating in the Quick
Pitch will have the opportunity to meet and network with experienced venture capitalist principals,
successful entrepreneurs, and business leaders who will serve as judges and witnesses to the competition.
There are two tracks to the Quick Pitch: a student track and community track. The Student
Track is open to any team with at least one key member from a college or university in the
commonwealth. There is a $25.00 entry fee for the Student Track. The Community Track is
open to any person or business entity located within Massachusetts. There is a $50.00 entry
fee for the Community Track.
The registration deadline is March 6, 2015. A panel of experts will review all submissions received
by this date and will determine the finalists for each track. The final pitch event will
be open to the general public on March 26. Each startup will have 5 minutes to pitch to a
panel of judges, followed by 5 minutes of Q & A from the panel. The judges will convene in
private to determine the winners and they will be announced at the end of the competition.
The Quick Pitch Competition is sponsored by Friendly’s Ice Cream, TD Bank and the Quincy
Chamber of Commerce.
