The Venture Forum's 5-Minute Pitch contest

Worcester, MA (Feb. 22, 2016) – The Venture Forum, a Worcester-based organization dedicated to helping entrepreneurs launch and grow successful businesses, will host their 5-Minute Pitch contest on Tuesday, April 12th. Until March 1st, the organization will be accepting applications from startups to potentially be selected to pitch to an audience and panel of judges about why their idea is the next great business.
The Venture Forum's 5-Minute Pitch contest has proved a powerful outlet for startups to launch their business to the next level. This year, eight finalists will be chosen to compete for the judges' 1st and 2nd place selections, a $2500 or $1500 prize respectively, and the Audience Choice award, a $1000 prize. Each winner will also receive in-kind prizes, including a one-hour meeting with a member of the Cherrystone Angels, a one-hour meeting with a member of the Boynton Angels, a one-hour coaching session with MassChallenge, and six months free desk for two people with Worcester Clean Tech Incubator.
The panel of judges includes Jerry Bird, President of MassVentures; James Geshwiler, Managing Director of Converge Venture Partners; Tripp Peake, General Partner of Long River Ventures; and Jennifer Schwall Rousseau, Executive Director of Cherrystone Angel Group.
Prior to the main event, the program will feature approximately 20 startups displaying their ideas. Networking time complete with food, wine, coffee, and dessert will also be offered to all attendees.
