Vice President

MassTLC is seeking a mission-focused, seasoned, strategic, and process-minded team leader with experience in setting and meeting revenue goals, marketing, scaling programs and operations, leading teams, and developing a performance culture among a group of talented individuals. The Vice President and CEO will work together as a team to lead the organization to new heights, with the Vice President assuming leadership for the internal operations and the CEO focused on external leadership and visibility.

About You

You are tech savvy and able to help others articulate their vision, operationalize plans and deliver measurable, cost-effective results that make MassTLC’s vision a reality. You have an entrepreneurial mindset, are a respected team leader, great communicator and know how to inspire teams toward success. You know how to identify and implement efficient and effective processes and systems that streamline productivity, and are agile enough to adjust/pivot when necessary in our fast paced entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities Include

Reporting to the CEO, the VP will lead all internal operations. You will be a strategic thought partner to CEO on long term direction of Council with your primary focus being on oversight of day to day decisions that drive the organization’s success.


Internal Leader of the Organization:

  • Partner with CEO and direct reports on annual plan and budget

  • Set and lead the performance management process that measures and evaluates progress against goals for the organization Lead and manage the team who are responsible for:

  • Value delivery including major events, initiatives and communities

  • Membership and sponsorship sales

  • Marketing/ PR

  • Office operations


Manager of Product/Service Offerings:

  • Increase membership numbers/revenue and engagement in Council offerings

  • Build relationships with key member executives

  • Produce and implement a Balanced Scorecard metric throughout the organization

  • Cultivate the values of MassTLC within the organization

  • Instill a “coaching” culture that inspires the team to success

  • Assess and identify systems and processes that create seamless execution and success while maintaining our agile/ entrepreneurial culture

  • Analyze the current technology infrastructure and scope out the next level of information technology and financial systems that will support the growth of specific programs and the organization overall

  • Develop and oversee programs/initiatives and membership/sales budgets


Key Qualifications

  • You have experience in the tech sector and are passionate about helping the companies and people who are changing the way we work, live and play.

  • You are highly organized and have successfully managed multiple projects at once and understand the importance of processes and systems while are flexible enough to know when and where to pivot for success.

  • You have exceptional capacity for managing and leading people and enjoy and have success in building teams, setting goals, helping people achieve them, and setting up accountability systems that motivate people toward success.

  • You thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and are comfortable leading and navigating change.

  • You have the ability to think strategically, anticipate future consequences and trends and incorporate them into an overall organizational plan.

  • You enjoy working hard and looking for challenges; are proactive in solving problems as they arise and able to make thoughtful decisions in a timely manner that keeps the organization/ project moving forward.

2017 Spring Semester Marketing Internship

Are you looking to get some great real-world marketing experience and maybe some class credit as well? MassTLC is looking for a top-notch college or grad school student to join our team as a Marketing Intern.

  • Are you a business, marketing or communications major?
  • Do you want to get some real world marketing experience on your resume?
  • Do you have a passion for technology and the people that create and consume it?


The Mass Technology Leadership Council, the state’s leading technology membership organization, has a new opening for a marketing intern. You will have the opportunity to assist in the development and execution of the Council’s marketing and communications programs that drive revenue growth and enhance brand awareness.

This is a hands-on internship that includes events marketing, communications, digital marketing, social media, creative/design, and content development. 

Overview of Responsibilities

  • Support marketing campaigns using social media and email software
  • Keep organization’s email databases updated
  • Make updates to as needed
  • Assist in targeted email and direct mail campaigns to market events and membership
  • Support other membership and marketing efforts


Internship Details

  • This is a part-time position with flexible hours
  • You will have the opportunity to attend any of the member events you like for free and get full exposure to many of the technology companies in Massachusetts
  • You will have the opportunity to meet some of the leaders of the tech community


Skills and Experience Required

  • Must be a student enrolled in a college or university
  • Great communications skills – both verbal and written
