Robot RUKUS–Robotics in the UK & US

On May 2, the British Consulate-General in Boston hosted several robotics and healthcare researchers for a visit to local academia and robotics companies with the objective to foster ties between roboticists on both sides of the Atlantic. MassTLC facilitated visits and discussions with several of our members.

The delegation visited Vecna Technologies to learn about the robot fleet as well as other products and healthcare applications.  They then visited the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hosptial and met with Paolo Bonato, Director of the Motions Analysis Laboratory.  Members of his team gave presentations and demos of current research in the rehabilitation and robotics field.

The groups final stop was at MassRobotics where they heard from 3 medical robotics/rehabilitation robotics companies: Myomo, Cardan Robotics and Andros Robotics.
