The Dark Web Gets Too Dark for Lewman

Last year MassTLC invited a local privacy pioneer and former executive director of the Tor, Andrew Lewman to speak at D3: Data, Development, & Drive (video here). His talk detailed a lot of what we already understood and filled in gaps that solidified the terror that most of us living in the digital age deal with regularly.

Hackers are everywhere, they move faster than any traditional business can, and they are ultra sophisticated. What his talk exemplified was how prolific these networks were and that they were moving beyond just data theft.

In a new article on CyberScoop, Lewman discusses much of the same feelings that Tim Berners-Lee has been speaking to lately, of being part of something initially great, but which has taken a turn to an unintended darker side.
