MassTLC’s security community hosted Harriett Pearson, head of Hogan Lovells’ global cybersecurity practice and former Vice President Security Counsel and Chief Privacy Officer at IBM, as she addressed a group of forty local tech and compliance professionals on the topic of the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which takes effect next year.

Harriet, who co-founded and co-chairs the Georgetown Cybersecurity Law Institute and helped found the International Association of Privacy Professionals, provided an overview of the GDPR’s aims, its applicability to companies, the requirements for compliance, and sample frameworks to prepare for the new regulation.
