Career Readiness Workshop: Tips to Help You on Your Path

Last week, MassTLC hosted a career readiness workshop for the interns and students participating in this year’s intern program. In this workshop, attendees got to hear first-hand from tech industry experts about how to get career-ready. First, we learned about resume do’s and don’ts from our friends at Mimecast – Matthew Liptak, Director of Talent, and Michelle Collina, Talent Acquisition Specialist. They walked us through important items like formatting, relevant experience, and making yourself stand out (in the right way).

Next, Brianne McDonough of Northeastern University, walked us through best practices for LinkedIn. She showed us samples of how to make your profile more than just an online resume and how to use it to advance your career.

Finally, Dr. Ethan Becker of The Speech Improvement shared a key presentation skill – the four step outline: “tell what tell, tell why listen, tell, and tell what told.” Check out the recording here to take your career to the next step!
