Endeavor Robotics Secures $159M Army Contract

Endeavor Robotics, formerly the Defense and Security unit at iRobot, has been awarded a $158.5 million contract with the U.S. Army – its biggest deal to date. The Chelmsford-based company will work with the Army to execute the latter’s long-term effort to modernize robots used in war zones, thus placing Endeavor in a prime position to grow with the Army.

The Acquisition and Support of Specific Robots

CEO Sean Bielat noted to the Boston Business Journal, “This is the first time in a long time that the (military) has said ‘We’re going to plan in a very deliberate fashion the acquisition and support of specific robots. We’re really excited about that as a business because it allows us to have a… clearer understanding of what’s coming.”
