3rd Annual INSPIRE STEM Gala, NSBE Boston Professionals

Inspire Future Generations of Black Innovators & Leaders

NSBE Boston Professionals is proud to announce the 3rd Annual INSPIRE STEM Gala taking place on Saturday, March 20th, 2021 at 6:30pm. Our annual evening of inspiration celebrates Black excellence in both academics and industry, as well as raises funds to inspire future generations of Black innovators and leaders.

STEM for the Future

This year’s theme to “Re-envision STEM for the future” addresses the growing inequalities for Black students in underserved communities and places a special focus on the tools and resources that are being made available to increase access for students in STEM. The event will also honor Black leaders in the New England area that have made an impact in the STEM fields and continue to support diversity efforts.

Governor of Massachusetts, Charlie Baker, will deliver a special welcome address highlighting the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion in STEM for both education and business sectors.

“We are committed to strengthening the pipeline and supporting Black students who are seriously underrepresented in STEM fields. The current statistics show less than 10% representation of Black & Brown students graduating annually in STEM programs. Supporting these students ensures that we ultimately increase the number of students pursuing STEM degrees, and in turn fulfill NSBE’s mission. We launched a $50,000 “INSPIRE STEM scholarship fund that will be distributed to NSBE college and high school students who have demonstrated academic excellence.”  – Seun Oluwole, President of NSBE Boston & NSBE Lifetime member

The scholarship fund will also benefit youth STEM programs and community impact programs. Learn more about the INSPIRE STEM Scholarship Fund and NSBE Boston’s programs.
