Kaspersky: Meet the Tech Top 50 ‘Company Culture’ Honoree

The MassTLC Tech Top 50 celebrates tech companies and leaders across the region who have made a significant impact in the community during the past 12 month. This year, we are excited to recognize winners across 8 categories: Best Pivot to Meet the New World, Business Accomplishment, Company Culture, Inclusivity Impact, Leadership, New Company of the Year, Tech for Good: Social Responsibility, and Tech to Watch.

Forty-nine honorees were chosen across these categories, with the final recognition, the Mosaic Award, given to Chevalier “Chevy” Cleaves, Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer of MIT Lincoln Laboratory, for his work creating access and opportunity for future leaders. View the full list of winners, here.

Over the course of the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing more about each of the recipients to spotlight their accomplishments and their impact on customers, partners, employees, and the broader community.

Describe your company culture. What are your values and beliefs? How is it expressed by leaders and employees?

Kaspersky’s mission is to build a safer world, and the company is made up of people that fully embrace this commitment.

Employees are not only committed to helping the world become a safer place online, but they are also dedicated to showing how Kaspersky can be a force for good beyond the cybersecurity landscape. Gender equality, accessible knowledge, volunteering, child safety, animal protection and more are all issues that are crucial for Kaspersky. As a result, employees support social responsibility through volunteerism and philanthropy.

Along with giving back to the community, Kaspersky has a culture of caring. Our leadership fosters a supportive environment that values employee well-being and promotes a positive work space. The company has established internal programs such as an employee-lead group that puts on fun events throughout the year to help employees stay connected and a quarterly kudos program that encourages employees to nominate peers across the entire company for a variety of notable achievements.

What have you done that is different for your employees, customers, partners, and/or community that has improved/changed your culture?

What stands out about Kaspersky’s culture is the drive to give back to the community, participate in internal programs, and build quality customer and partner relationships.

Through the corporate social responsibility program in 2020, the company assisted 28 non-profit organizations around the U.S., 15 of which were in Massachusetts. Along with volunteering, Kaspersky offered free licenses for its core endpoint security products to hospitals and clinics worldwide, resulting in 350,000 licenses being provided for doctors and healthcare personnel in 2,300 healthcare organizations across 46 countries.

During the challenging times, leadership continued to encourage a positive culture when we all transitioned to a remote workforce. From hosting virtual happy hours, paint nights, flower bouquet-making classes, and sending themed care packages, the company got creative when it came to virtually caring for their own, this past year.

In addition to creating a sense of community internally while employees were remote, Kaspersky also had to reimagine relationships with partners and clients to make it mutually beneficial for both parties. Kaspersky turned the challenge into an opportunity to increase video communication and host virtual networking events like whiskey tastings.

What does it mean to be recognized with the other Tech Top 50 honorees?

Being recognized by MassTLC is a testament to the hard work we put into building our company culture, community involvement and client relationships. Through each of these facets, we’ve had the opportunity to forge strong relationships and meaningful connections, both with the people and organizations we help as well as with our fellow colleagues. Moreover, we truly value the time and efforts put forth this past year, and seeing the results of those activities instills a sense of pride among our employees and the company as a whole. We look forward to building upon those efforts as we continue to make Kaspersky a great place to work, a positive presence in the community and leader in the tech industry.
