MassTLC Trustee Trynka Shineman Named to Ally Financial Board of Directors

As of August 3, 2018, Vistaprint CEO and MassTLC Trustee Trynka Shineman is a member of the Board of Directors of Ally Financial, a publicly-traded digital financial services company on the New York Stock Exchange with assets of $171.3 billion. In 2018, Ally was named Best Online Bank by GOBankingRates and both Best Company to Work for Women and Best Company to Work for Millennials by the Women’s Choice Awards.

As Vistaprint CEO, Shineman leads a company that provides printing and digital marketing services for more than 17 million micro businesses globally. Vistaprint is a subsidiary of Cimpress N.V., where Shineman sits on the management board.

Prior to being named CEO of Vistaprint, Shineman served in a number of roles at the company, including chief customer officer, executive vice president for global marketing, and president. She serves on the board of trustees of the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council (MassTLC), a leading regional technology association that drives growth and innovation by connecting tech leaders, investors, academics, and policymakers. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Cornell University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Brian Sharples co-founder and chairman of Twyla, Inc., a privately held company that provides a new way to discover and buy art, was appointed along with Shineman to the Ally board. Prior to co-founding Twyla, Sharples was co-founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of HomeAway, Inc., a global online marketplace for the vacation rental industry.
