MassTLC will be closed on November 3rd for #aDayforDemocracy

MassTLC will join member companies Analog Devices, CyberGrants, Dell Technologies, Fuze, meQuilibrium, Mimecast, MITRE, Rue Gilt Groupe, Wayfair and many others in #aDayforDemocracy, a non-partisan initiative to encourage leaders across the US to pledge to increase voter registration and participation by their employees.

The 2020 election, by all accounts, is likely to be one of the most consequential elections of our lifetime, yet less than 56% of our voting-age population cast ballots in the last presidential election. This distinguishes the United States as one of the democracies with the lowest voter participation rates in the world.

MassTLC, therefore, has joined leading tech companies in giving employees time to vote. At MassTLC we have given our team a paid day off to vote, participate in the “get out the vote” process, or contribute to their communities in other ways. While many of us have already voted, we know there will be challenges for many others on election day, including the possibility of longer lines and wait times due to the pandemic.

We hope all eligible voters will find a way to safely exercise their Constitutional right to vote on or before November 3rd. And, we look forward to getting back to our work in support of the tech economy in Massachusetts on the 4th.
