Navisite: Meet the Tech Top 50 ‘Company Culture’ Honoree

The MassTLC Tech Top 50 celebrates tech companies and leaders across the region who have made a significant impact in the community during the past 12 month. This year, we are excited to recognize winners across 8 categories: Best Pivot to Meet the New World, Business Accomplishment, Company Culture, Inclusivity Impact, Leadership, New Company of the Year, Tech for Good: Social Responsibility, and Tech to Watch.

Forty-nine honorees were chosen across these categories, with the final recognition, the Mosaic Award, given to Chevalier “Chevy” Cleaves, Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer of MIT Lincoln Laboratory, for his work creating access and opportunity for future leaders. View the full list of winners, here.

Over the course of the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing more about each of the recipients to spotlight their accomplishments and their impact on customers, partners, employees, and the broader community.

Today, meet Navisite, one of this year’s honorees for Company Culture.

Describe your company culture. What are your values and beliefs? How is it expressed by leaders and employees?

At Navisite, we believe that celebrating employees and investing in their well-being and development is not just a priority or an initiative—it’s woven into everything we do. We introduced the mantra and unofficial corporate hashtag #SoMuchGood to recognize the team’s commitment, talents and achievement, both inside and outside the office, as well as their commitment to the customer experience. The hashtag was actually born out of an employee saying, “There’s so much good here at Navisite!”—referring to all the good that has come from Navisite’s growth as a result of multiple acquisitions and all the collective talent and capabilities brought together under the Navisite brand. That hashtag has stuck, and it is now part of our culture. It’s that theme that has driven a host of programs focused on showing employee appreciation, making work fun and giving back to the community.

The #SoMuchGood mantra also extends to our customers and their experience partnering with Navisite. From the first moment a customer engages with Navisite, through the sales process, implementation and beyond—every touch point with the customer is about delivering on that #SoMuchGood experience. Our customers and partners are part of the Navisite community, and it’s about giving back to that community in a positive and influential way.

What have you done that is different for your employees, customers, partners, and/or community that has improved/changed your culture?

When Navisite shifted to a remote workforce during COVID, many of our employees were struggling to balance work with home life and needed a break to recharge and refresh. To support them, the leadership team created “You First Fridays” (#YFFs), which made Friday afternoons for several weeks a company holiday. #YFFs have been so successful that Navisite continues to implement it on a periodic basis.

We also saw an important opportunity to help bring employees together during work-at-home mandates and lift their spirits, while at the same time giving back to those on the pandemic’s frontlines. The result was a virtual benefit concert hosted by Navisite, featuring Johnny Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls. During the show, donations were collected benefitting Off Their Plate, a Boston-based relief organization that provides expertise and funding to restore shift hours for restaurant workers in several U.S. cities, so they can provide meals for healthcare workers.

Several other initiatives were implemented to support employees, including sending a series of care packages to each employee at home with masks and other protective gear, comfort food, blankets, Navisite-branded clothing and other items. The underlying message to the team across all these programs is to take care of yourself and the people you care about, which is something Navisite continues to reinforce on a daily basis, whether the employees are in the office or at home.

Navisite’s core values are also exemplified through Navisite’s “Next Steminist” scholarship program, which was launched this April to help close the gender gap in technology and encourage young women to go after their dreams in STEM. The program offers three $10,000 awards to eligible female candidates. The program was created to help turn the tide on female underrepresentation by encouraging more young women as they transition to college and beyond to explore their interests in STEM.

What does it mean to be recognized with the other Tech Top 50 honorees?

It’s an honor to be recognized as a MassTLC Tech Top 50 company with other leading Massachusetts companies, especially in the corporate culture category. The past eighteen months have been difficult for people around the world, and we’ve worked hard to make a difference for our employees with a variety of programs that make Navisite a great place to work.
