NCWIT Aspirations in Computing Award Seeks Judges, Applications

The National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) Aspirations in Computing Award honors 9th-12th grade students who self-identify as women, genderqueer, or non-binary for their computing-related achievements and interests and encourages them to pursue their passions. Each year, over 13,000 women across 80 regional affiliates are recognized across the nation.

Applications for the 2019 award are due by November 5, and there are two big ways that you and your organization can help:

  • Promote this opportunity to high school women in your network. The NCWIT suggests copying and pasting the following language to share with current and former interns or other individuals in your network:
Revolutionize the Face of Technology – Apply Now for NCWIT’s Aspirations Awards!

Each year, the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) recognizes technical women across the country through the Award for Aspirations in Computing. Recipients receive engraved awards, scholarship and internship opportunities, entry to a peer-network of technical women, various prizes, and that is just the beginning! Students in grades 9-12 who self-identify as women, genderqueer, or non-binary, can apply online by 8:00 p.m. MT on November 5, 2019.

  • Volunteer to review applications. NCWIT is seeking volunteer judges to review applications for the NCWIT Collegiate Award (technical background required) after October 24 and for the NCWIT Aspirations in Computing Award (no technical background required) after November 13.
