BTJ First Timers
This is the first year OSRAM is participating in BTJ – and we’re psyched! As a global lighting technology company with our Americas headquarters in Wilmington, MA (only 17 miles north of Boston), we’re excited to participate in this celebration of the Massachusetts tech community. BTJ gives our employees the chance to mingle with like-minded tech enthusiasts and introduce OSRAM to Boston.
Everyone at OSRAM is excited to participate in BTJ. We offered 85 tickets to our employees across three Massachusetts-based locations on a first come, first served basis– and employees snapped them up in mere minutes.

We all know Boston is a tech hub. There is no doubt that with all the talent coming from the 40+ colleges and universities located in and around Boston the options are endless when it comes to smart people, oftentimes from all over the world. Many don’t know that OSRAM has been in the Boston area for more than 20 years and that our company is more than 110 years old. We are a ‘best kept secret’ in Metro-Boston. As we continue our transformation from a traditional manufacturer to a global high-tech lighting company developing cutting-edge applications with visible and invisible light, being in Massachusetts allows us to recruit world class talent and form partnerships with leaders across a variety of industries and academia.
OSRAM at BTJ: Try to Win a Drone
At OSRAM, we create sources of visible and invisible light to make everyday life better. From smart headlights to horticultural grow lights, UV light for sterilization in the medical industry to cinema and movie set lighting and beyond, light is everywhere. So is OSRAM. At BTJ, we will showcase one of our hottest new developments using human-centric lighting technology – designed for use by athletes, world travelers and even race horses!
We’ll have cool giveaways and will be running a social media contest to win a drone that features some of our technology.
Having Fun and Getting to Know Each Other
Events like BTJ help tech companies, and those interested in working for those companies, get together to learn more about each other, support each other and to have fun at the same time. Tech in general is a cool industry, we’re always looking for new ways to introduce ourselves to like-minded innovators. Events like BTJ give us the chance to see what our peers are up to and to develop relationships outside of a normal working environment.
