Wednesday, June 28th, marked the official opening of Red Hat’s Global Executive Briefing Center (EBC), Engineering Lab, and first east coast location for its Open Innovation Labs. MassTLC was honored to attend this event, which featured a panel discussion, interactive tour of the new space, and a reception for attendees.
Having recognized the importance of being in the heart of Boston’s innovation district, Red Hat designed a 40,000 square foot facility that could meet its customers’ needs while also fostering collaboration with local universities as well as IT professionals from its customer companies. The company had already announced a five-year, $5 million commitment to Boston University to advance research and education in a range of open source and emerging technologies, including cloud computing, machine learning and big data, and is already working with customers in the Open Innovation Labs.
The day’s tour consisted of visits to the Engineering and Innovation Labs, a look at the interactive technology underpinning the new EBC, and, most exciting, a peak inside the hidden speakeasy.
