Technovation Girls Challenge

The Technovation Girls Challenge

Audience: 300+ students, teachers, educators, and industry professionals

What is Technovation Girls and the Technovation Girls Showcase?

Technovation Girls, a flagship program of non-profit Technovation, is the world’s largest global tech entrepreneurship competition for girls. The program offers girls around the world the opportunity to learn the necessary skills to emerge as tech entrepreneurs and leaders. Every year the program challenges 10- to 18-year-old girls to build a mobile app and business plan that will address a community problem.

The MassTLC Education Foundation, the local organizer and regional ambassador for Technovation Girls, organizes workshops and events to support the teams of girls as they work on their projects. The season culminates in a finale event—the Technovation Girls Showcase—at which 30+ teams of girls are scored by 60+ industry judges, and the top teams pitch live to the audience of over 300 people.

Over the six-year period of running Technovation in Massachusetts, the Ed Foundation has helped close to 800 girls from over 70 schools representing 50 different cities and towns participate in the program.
