With political viewpoints dividing workplaces and midterm elections not quite in the rearview mirror, Cangrade’s Research Scientist, Dr. Kat Chia, turned to Cangrade’s data to understand the relationship between personality traits and political views and how they could impact hiring. In her analysis of Cangrade’s data, Dr. Chia identified 5 personality traits that correlate with Liberal or Conservative political views.
For companies currently using personality assessments in their hiring process that do not reveal the science backing how they are definitively bias-free, these correlations prove that political biases can easily slip into hiring decisions. - Sales Orientation: the tendency to enjoy the challenge of a sale.
